Administrator Apprenticeship role within our Edinburgh office (18 month FTC) About the Role Apprenticeships form an integral role within our secretarial team and we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our secretarial and administrative team. Working in our Tech & Media team in an administrative role, you will gain an understanding of the variety of tasks that are undertaken to support your colleagues in the secretarial team, as well as fee earners and partners in the wider practice group. We are looking for an individual who is keen to grow their knowledge and confidence whilst gaining an understanding of the numerous administrative tasks that are carried out in the team. With the support and mentoring of colleagues, you will develop your skills within the workplace with a view to progressing your career within the secretarial team. This role is 5 days a week in the office as all tasks undertaken in this role are mostly office based and working hours are 9am to 5.30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 9am to 5pm (Friday) with 1 hour for lunch each day. To support your ongoing learning and development, you will undertake the SVQ in Business Administration Level 6 which is supported by our external training provider. Our newly created Administrator Apprenticeship Contract will give you the opportunity of gaining valuable on-the-job learning along with structured learning with a competitive salary. It is for a fixed period of 18 months. As an equal opportunities employer, following that period you may be eligible to apply for other roles advertised in the business. During your apprenticeship you will become fully conversant in a variety of tasks which the wider team undertake. These tasks include but are not limited to: • Printing, scanning and copying • Dealing with hard copy mail (incoming and outgoing) • File storage and recall of files using records management system • Filing – hard copy and electronic • Matter opening including conflict searches • Preparing Retainer letters • Preparation of finance forms • Processing Expenses on Chrome River • Organising meeting rooms and travel • Uploading/downloading documents to/from datasites • Preparing electronic bibles/bundles Some of the applications you may be asked to use are (but not limited to): • Microsoft Outlook • Microsoft Word • Microsoft Excel • Microsoft Teams • Adobe Acrobat About You We will invest in your ongoing training and development to support your professional goals and help you to thrive in your role from day one.
