JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily operations of a storage center within a designated territory. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing day-to-day storage centers and associates, meeting customers’ expectations, managing daily routing and driver assignments. Requirements also include maintaining OSHA, DOT, and preventative maintenance programs for the storage center and driver equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leading Associates:
* Recruit, interview, hire, train, identify, and retain top talent.
* Provide daily support including coaching and hands-on/ride-along training for associates.
* Support a culture aligned with PODS core values (Integrity, Delighting Customers, Engagement, Accountability, Support Through Teamwork).
* Administer PODS performance management process effectively.
* Report employee issues to Territory Manager and Regional HRBP promptly; maintain ongoing communication with HR for personnel management, accident reports, disciplinary documentation, evaluations, and reporting.
* Communicate regularly with team members about goals, results, improvement opportunities, and key focus areas.
* Conduct daily pre-shift meetings at each Storage Center.
Customers:
* Manage customer experience to meet or exceed PODS CSAT and DSAT goals. Follow up and resolve issues, engage in direct customer contact, refine operational processes, and implement remedial training.
* Ensure associates meet brand standards (uniforms, containers, equipment) and customer interaction expectations (notification, equipment demonstration, container evaluation, feedback solicitation).
Operational Excellence:
* Manage all corporate assets within territory (trucks, forklifts, containers, etc.).
* Oversee daily routing and ETA/JPH performance, communicating delays to Sales and Service Center.
* Assign work shifts based on routing needs and available HOS.
* Coordinate repairs as assigned; ensure paperwork and payments are processed if damage occurs at customer sites.
* Complete driver checklists, forklift inspections, and logs accurately and timely.
* Maintain safe, clean, organized, and functional storage centers and staging areas.
* Ensure timely and safe equipment repairs to meet PODS Out of Service targets.
* Perform driver functions as needed.
Regulatory/Compliance:
* Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, including Hours of Service and licensing.
* Ensure OSHA compliance and adherence to local ordinances and zoning codes.
* Manage relationships with local municipalities and obtain necessary permits for deliveries.
* Participate in quarterly self-audits and implement improvements.
* Adhere to internal policies (incident reports, drug screening, safety policies).
Financial Management:
* Manage daily operations efficiently, focusing on cost-effective practices.
* Manage petty cash according to policy.
* Oversee refueling and perform monthly parts inventory reconciliation.
Other Duties:
* Travel frequently within the territory.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Report to Territory Manager.
* Manage employees including hiring, termination, performance management, and pay decisions. Directly supervise Storage Center, Equipment Maintenance, and Delivery Driver staff.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements
* High School diploma required; college degree or at least 1 year of management experience preferred.
* Ability to attain CDL Class B License or higher.
* Valid driver license from the state of employment.
* Obtain PODS forklift certification.
* Possession of a valid DOT medical card.
* Mechanical skills to identify equipment problems.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
* Sit at a desk for up to 8 hours; type and use a mouse.
* Stand and walk up to 8 hours; lift up to 40 lbs.
* Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, crawling.
* Close and peripheral vision, focus adjustment.
* Reach with hands, talk, hear, communicate verbally.
WORKING CONDITIONS
* Regular business hours, additional hours including weekends may be required.
* Travel within the local territory.
* Climate-controlled storage centers; deliveries in all weather; high noise levels.
* Pre-employment background and drug screening may be required.
