Job description
Project Estimator, Cost Engineer, Surveyor - Construction, Restoration
As an experienced Project Estimator, you will be responsible for interpreting architectural plans into accurate, actionable estimates. This is a crucial role, supporting the company in winning new contracts. Projects need to run on time, budgets need to be accurate, and the delivery needs to be successful. Working closely with colleagues, sub-contractors, Project Managers and suppliers you will ensure the commercial aspect of the design meets real-world practicality. You will be working with architectural drawings, Surveyors, contractors and project specifications, for domestic, commercial developments and historical restorative projects within the construction sector.
Responsibilities
* Interpret architectural plans into accurate, actionable estimates.
* Support the company in winning new contracts by delivering robust cost estimates.
* Ensure projects run on time and budgets are controlled, with delivery outcomes that meet objectives.
* Collaborate with colleagues, sub-contractors, Project Managers and suppliers to align commercial and practical deliverables.
* Work with architectural drawings, surveyors, contractors and project specifications for domestic, commercial and restoration projects.
Person specification / Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Project Estimator or Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
* Relevant Estimator qualifications such as a degree or similar in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
* Experience bidding for and submitting tenders to both the private and public sector (typical projects £200k–£500k minimum).
* Experience managing projects, working closely with Architects, Project Managers, Surveyors, engineers and clients.
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel.
