Job Title: Field Performance Manager- Water Network
Location: South Coast - Based in one of our offices across the Southern Water region: Chatham, Horsham, Falmer, Durrington, Otterbourne, or Hastings. Hybrid work model: 3 days in office/site and 2 days WFH. A valid driving licence is essential for occasional site visits.

We are recruiting a Water Distribution Mains Flushing Manager to oversee all distribution mains flushing activities across Southern Water’s 14,000 km water network. Reporting to the Infrastructure Programmes Delivery Manager, you will manage a team of approximately 8 technicians to ensure effective and efficient maintenance of our distribution mains.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Representing the Water Networks & Customer team to define the scope of works, delivery plans, and resources needed to meet Water Quality regulatory commitments, collaborating with Asset Management and Engineering & Construction teams.
2. Maintaining and improving business processes and operating procedures to ensure the effective delivery of flushing activities.
3. Leading and coordinating all flushing activities in compliance with Southern Water’s operating procedures, within agreed parameters of cost, time, and quality.
4. Engaging with stakeholders such as Operations, Engineering & Construction, Water Quality & Performance, Customer Service, and Delivery Partners to support and complete flushing activities as planned.
5. Reporting on key activities, identifying and mitigating customer and performance risks.
6. Ensuring all relevant data related to flushing activities is accurately recorded and stored in an auditable format.
7. Providing excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
To succeed, you should have proven experience managing a team and achieving goals through setting challenging yet attainable objectives. Experience supporting other project workstreams is beneficial. A strong background in water operations, understanding of drinking water standards and regulations, and hydraulic modelling experience are preferred. Distribution main maintenance experience within water networks is advantageous but not essential.
