Overview

Senior Children & Young People's Learning Disability Nurse role at NHS Scotland. An exciting opportunity to work within the Children and Young People’s Learning Disability Nursing Service, seeking an experienced nurse to lead and develop the service and support a multidisciplinary team.


Responsibilities

* Provide specialist assessment, care planning, and care evaluation for children and young people with a learning disability who require additional support with mental illness, autism, challenging behaviour or ADHD.
* Demonstrate leadership to support day-to-day service delivery and management of nursing and supporting team members.
* Contribute to service development and continuous improvement within a community-based setting.
* Work across professional boundaries with a strong team ethic and drive to develop clinical skills.
* Travel across Fife as required by the community post.
* Engage in ongoing supervision, support, and commitment to continuing professional development.


Qualifications

* First level registered nurse, learning disability or mental health trained with post-registration community-based experience in working with children and young people with learning disabilities.
* Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work with the wider Health and Social Care Team, Education, and voluntary agencies; capable of autonomous working, using initiative and clinical judgement.
* Community post requires ability to travel across Fife.
