Job Description
Talan Consulting is working in partnership with a leading global investment bank to recruit an experienced SD-WAN Network Engineer for a major WAN transformation programme. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the deployment of a Fortinet-based SD-WAN solution across over 30 global sites. As part of the infrastructure team, you will be instrumental in the rollout and integration of a new SD-WAN platform. The role involves close collaboration with global engineering teams, local IT support, and third-party providers to deliver a secure, high-performing, and future-ready network.
Qualifications
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Proven experience delivering Fortinet SD-WAN solutions in enterprise environments.
* Deep understanding of traditional WAN technologies (e.g., MPLS, leased lines) and their integration with SD-WAN.
* Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), IP addressing schemes, and network segmentation practices.
* Experience operating within enterprise-scale, security-conscious environments with rigorous change control processes.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and in globally distributed teams.
* Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
Desirable Experience:
* Prior exposure to legacy WAN optimisation tools such as Ipanema.
* Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., finance, healthcare).
* Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., FortiManager, SolarWinds, PRTG).
* Industry certifications such as NSE4+, CCNP, JNCIS.
* ITIL knowledge and experience working within ITIL-aligned environments.
