Are you looking for a challenging career move where you can make a difference? Then you might want to consider joining our exceptional team! A rare opportunity has arisen and we are looking to recruit Band 5 registered nurses.
Neonatal Services at UHMBT are provided from both Furness General Hospital and Royal Lancaster Infirmary sites and are part of the North West Neonatal Operational Delivery Network.
The Special Care Unit at Furness General Hospital is integrated into the South Lakes Birth Centre and has a cot capacity of 4. We provide care to babies and their families from 32 weeks gestation but also provide stabilisation for sick and preterm babies born below 32 weeks, in preparation for transfer by the regional transport team.
The Local Neonatal Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) has 1 intensive care cot, 2 High Dependency cots and 7 Special Care cots, caring for babies from 28 weeks gestation and provide stabilisation for sick and preterm babies born below 28 weeks in preparation for transfer by the regional transport team
Both sites have a well developed transitional care service which enables babies and their mothers to stay together when requiring additional support.
If you are looking for an opportunity to work with a team of professionals dedicated to placing the baby and family at the centre of everything we do, then we want to hear from you.
This post would suit an experienced band 5 with or without neonatal experience or a newly qualified nurse.
You will be based on the Special Care Unit at Furness General Hospital as your main place of work, however you may be required to cover the RLI Local Neonatal Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team in the assessment, planning and implementation of care to the neonate, through the delivery of evidence based practice and be responsible for accurate record keeping.
The post holder will require excellent communication skills to enable effective team working and liaison with families and external agencies.
You will be reliable, flexible, motivated and have a commitment to delivering high quality care to babies and families.
This is a great time to join our neonatal service as we look to grow and develop our team. The service is supported by a specialist neonatal educator and a comprehensive induction package is provided to all new employees. You will be offered support for your own career development and will be encouraged to pursue any areas of interest that you may have in line with our service improvement plans. This may include joining one of our special interest groups.
