Are you an enthusiastic and highly motivated Nurse who is ready for a challenge, the Colorectal Nursing team is seeking a highly self-motivated practitioner, with a desire to promote and develop clinical excellence in clinical practice. The successful postholder will join an established Colorectal Nursing team and provide nursing support to inpatient / outpatient areas.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Colorectal Triage Nurse will play a key role in managing the Straight to Test (STT) colorectal referral pathway within BCUHB. The post holder will be responsible for assessing and triaging all colorectal USC referrals, determining suitability for STT, and ensuring patients are appropriately assessed, informed, and prepared for diagnostic procedures. This role aims to optimise patient flow, reduce waiting times, and support the delivery of the 62-day cancer pathway target.
The post holder will work collaboratively with consultants, multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs), and administrative staff to ensure an efficient, patient-centred service. They will be expected to lead nurse-led telephone clinics, support patient decision-making, and contribute to service improvements.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
