Job Summary:
Reporting to the Supported Housing Operations Manager, your key role will be to assess individuals facing homelessness, on their key needs and priorities to move on to independent living.
You will support and mentor individuals to develop the skills necessary to sustain their own tenancies, understand their tenancy rights and responsibilities, access primary healthcare, and develop budgeting skills to maximise their income.
Working with other third sector agencies, you will take an holistic approach to support residents needs and assist them to access education, employment and training opportunities.
There will be a strong emphasis on growing links with external organisations and partners
Duties:
To deliver a dynamic support plan to our client’s and maximise income to both them and the business.
To liaise with external referral agencies to assess referrals to ensure that they are compatible and suitable for House2Home.
To support the client’s journey into House2Home by ensuring at 1st point of contact all relevant documents are completed (covered in essential document list), induction of new home and overview of local facilities.
Ensure all benefit documentation including Housing Benefit is completed and submitted within 48 hours of the tenancy commencing with all relevant documentation.
To complete a tailored support plan to meet individual housing and support needs. The tailored support plan will be reviewed weekly to ensure the client is achieving their goals and outcomes.
Encourage clients to live as fully andindependentlyas possible within the local community, making referrals to external support agencies where necessary.
Ensuring a positive home environment by supporting clients to participate in cleaning rotas and ensuring individual house rules are being followed by residents.
To carry out regular risk assessments in line with company policies and procedures and reporting any safeguarding issues to management straight away, ensuring all documentation is updated at point of contact.
To help create a supportive, fair and positive culture within which team members are motivated and can develop and maximise their skills, knowledge and abilities.
To build strong links with other housing, health and social care professionals, benefits, welfare and advocacy agencies, and other property ownersas appropriate, to enable clients to sustain tenancies and future tenancies.
To effectively monitor service charge payments which will be included in budgeting assistance and payment plans where needed. In addition to ensuring the client understands their license agreementand obligations and report any breaches to management.
Ensure that fire and other equipment complies with H&S requirements via weekly checks / monthly checks and report any tenancy breaches. All contacts will be effectively recorded on the CRM system for continuity of care.
Remain up to date with issues relevant to housing & support, welfare benefits, and otherapplicablelegislation.
To plan and run intensive housing management sessions with clients including, cooking classes, budgeting and wellbeing sessions.
Assist and advise on appropriate move on options and to register residents on local housing lists.
Initiate and handle evictions, when necessary
To ensure void rooms meet lettable standards before re-lettingand ensuring necessary repairs are reportedaccording to company policies.
To ensure that House2Home comply with information governance, data protection, GDPR, safeguarding and regulatory requirements and that quality assurance mechanisms are in place.
Qualifications:
*Minimum 1 years proven experience in a supported housing officer role or similar position is preferred.
*Strong negotiation skills with the ability to mediate disputes effectively.
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
*Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
*Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
*A commitment to promoting equality and diversity within housing services.
*Have at least a level 2 qualification in social care or equivalent.

This role will be based in Wigan and surrounding areas. A valid driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential.
