We’re hiring a Product Design Engineer in Bridgend for a hands‑on sports and consumer products business, paying £35,000 to £40,000, with on‑site prototyping, international supplier travel and a busy roadmap of new products to deliver.
Scope of the Role
As Product Design Engineer, you’ll take physical products from early feasibility through to mass manufacture. This is a delivery‑focused role across CAD, prototyping, DFM, tooling and supplier liaison.
* Design plastic parts for tooling, moulding, assembly and cost‑effective manufacture.
* Build, test and iterate prototypes using on‑site facilities in Bridgend.
* Liaise with tooling suppliers in China and manufacturing partners in Kenya.
* Own three to four concurrent projects across accessories, lighting, cases and product variants.
Key Skills and Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Product Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or Design Engineer delivering physical products.
* Strong SOLIDWORKS skills, or high proficiency in Creo, NX or Inventor.
* Plastic injection moulding experience, including DFM, tooling reviews and production sign‑off.
* Comfortable owning detailed design work with limited hand‑holding.
* Able to work on‑site in Bridgend, with willingness to travel internationally.
