Bengali-Speaking School Administrator – Aston

Pay: £13.50–£15.00 per hour
Working Hours: 8:15 am – 1:45 pm, Monday to Friday
Are you organised, proactive, and experienced in school administration? Balfor is partnering with a school in Aston to recruit a Bengali-speaking School Administrator to provide essential administrative support and help the school operate smoothly. This role is initially subject to a trial period, with the potential to become long-term. The school has high expectations and is seeking someone competent in all aspects of school administration, who can work independently and use initiative. You will also occasionally provide cover for reception duties.

The school is a 2-form entry primary academy in Birmingham, co-educational and serving children aged 3 to 11. It has a strong focus on community involvement and offers a broad curriculum to prepare students for future learning. In its most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was rated Good.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide general administrative support including filing, record keeping, and data entry.
2. Competently use SIMS and other administrative systems like Arbor and ParentPay to maintain accurate student records and assist with reporting.
3. Assist with school communications, liaising with parents, staff, and the local community in Bengali and English.
4. Support the reception area, welcoming visitors, answering calls, and handling enquiries as required.
5. Be proactive in identifying administrative needs and taking initiative to support the smooth running of the school.
6. Help with day-to-day office tasks to ensure efficient school operations.
What We’re Looking For
7. Fluent in Bengali and English (written and spoken).
8. Previous administrative experience within a school setting.
9. DBS registered on the update service.
10. Competent using SIMS and other school administrative systems such as Arbor and ParentPay.
11. Proactive, organised, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
12. Friendly, professional, and able to cover reception duties as needed.
