About the Role:
You will join our dynamic team and contribute to the continued growth of our Civil Engineering programmes. You will play a key part in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, drawing on your expertise in core Civil Engineering areas such as Geotechnical Engineering, Highway Design, Civil-3D, and Structural Analysis. You will design and develop innovative teaching materials, lead modules and courses, supervise students, and contribute to curriculum development to ensure our provision remains current and industry-relevant. Youll engage in research and scholarly activity, producing internationally recognised outputs and supporting income generation through research, consultancy, and professional engagement. You will also play an active role in student recruitment, quality assurance, and enhancing the overall student experience within the school.
You will be industry-aware, and research-active professional with a strong academic background in Civil Engineering. You should hold a relevant degree and either a PhD, Professional Doctorate, or be nearing completion within 18 months of appointment. Chartered membership of a relevant professional body and fellowship of the HEA (or equivalent) are desirable. You will have a proven track record of effective teaching at higher education level, strong research outputs, and practical expertise in geotechnical and highway design or related fields. You will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to inspire students and colleagues alike.
