We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team at All Hallows, Suffolk, part of the Caretech Group. The role involves delivering person-centered therapy services to adults with physical deficits following acquired brain injury or cerebrovascular accident. This position is open to Band 6 candidates.
About All Hallows Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation Centre
We support men and women with complex healthcare needs due to brain injury, stroke, or other neurological events. Our services include active/complex rehabilitation, high dependency and specialist nursing care, and support for progressive neurological conditions.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience in a care setting.
* Background or experience in delivering or supporting exercises and physical activities.
* Ability to engage, teach, and instruct service users in a specialist area.
* Understanding the benefits of engaging patients in meaningful activities and the ability to communicate this effectively.
* Teamwork skills and good interpersonal skills.
* Computer literacy with strong written and oral communication skills.
* Previous experience in brain injury rehabilitation.
* Experience as a physiotherapy assistant.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning, executing, and evaluating therapy programs, managing sessions independently, and maintaining good timekeeping.
2. Delivering group sessions with confidence and organizational skills.
3. Liaising with nursing staff and management to address safety issues and therapy needs, ensuring effective communication with the therapy team and management.
4. Working in a residential rehabilitation environment for adults with brain injuries, which may involve emotionally demanding situations, exposure to aggression, and disinhibited behavior, requiring concentration and interpersonal skills.
5. Maintaining accurate records of therapy activities and other documentation.
6. Completing simple outcome measures as directed by the Physiotherapist.
7. Performing administrative duties as instructed by the Physiotherapist.
8. Supporting the cleaning and maintenance of the therapy gym and assisting with audits as directed.
9. Engaging in teaching and practical sessions with Physiotherapists to develop competencies.
