Working within a specialist EDM, machining and grinding operation in the West Midlands, our firmly established client is seeking an experienced Group Quality and HSE Manager to support their ongoing manufacturing growth activity within the global aerospace and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities
Based primarily at their site near Wolverhampton, but having close working activity with the Group sister site near Halesowen, this role will report to the Group Operations Director and key responsibilities will include:
* Manage all QHSE compliance requirements and market relevant risks/opportunities
* Track external developments specific to the UK and US/global aerospace sectors which may affect the business operation
* Support manufacturing, product development, supply chain, logistics and sales/marketing activities
* Manage the QMS
* Complete problem analysis, process analysis, the identification of process improvements and the implementation of preventive actions alongside the existing quality inspection teams
* Actively manage and develop QHSE focussed groups within the company as required
* Manage/develop a structured performance assessment process for systems, process and products
* Identify opportunities for improvements relating to QHSE
* Assist in the evaluation of non:conformances relating to product, process and business systems with recommendations for solution
* Preparation and write QHSE reports
* Liaise with external parties, i.e. customers, accreditation bodies, suppliers on matters relating to QHSE
* Hold responsibility for all audit and certification activity
* Support the evaluation and audit of sub:contractors and suppliers
* Maintain and further expand/establish proactive and preventative health, safety and environmental (QHSE) policies while ensuring compliance with current legislation.

On a Permanent Basis, You Will Need To Have
* Min HND or equivalent in a technical discipline
* 5+ years experience in QHSE
* Knowledge of ISO and AS9100 requirements
* Worked within a production engineering environment : preferably aerospace/defence
* Completed risk assessments and COSHH assessments
* Completed accident/incident investigation
* Implemented pro:active problem:solving techniques: 8D methodology, FMEA, 5s and lean manufacturing
