Community Staff Nurse

Join our team as a Community Staff Nurse.

Are you a passionate and motivated registered nurse looking to make a real difference in the lives of children, young people, and their families?

We are currently recruiting for a permanent, part time, term-time community staff nurse.

As a community staff nurse you will work closely with the school nurses taking a lead role in delivering specific elements of the Healthy Child Programme 5 – 19 years, which will include medical conditions in school, nocturnal enuresis and targeted health support for families.

The salary shown is Full time equivalent and will be pro-rated to Term Time, Part-time Only.

About the role

As a community staff nurse you will work alongside the SCPHN school nurses taking the lead in delivering specific elements of the Healthy Child Programme 5-19 years.

2. Provide support and training to school staff on the management of common medical conditions at face to face and virtual sessions.
3. Facilitate nocturnal enuresis clinics
4. Work with the school nurse to deliver targeted support to children, young people and their families, where there is an identified health need.

The successful candidate will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.

5. NMC registered professional
6. Post qualifying experience in a relevant field of nursing
7. Ability to use IT and common software packages
8. Able to work flexibly and independently being responsive to the service needs, knowing when and where to seek support when necessary.
9. An understanding of the development and assessment needs of children aged 5-19.
