Our Engineering department offers a dedicated workshop equipped with industry-standard centre lathes, CNC systems, and 3D printers, as well as a range of computer facilities featuring the latest 2D/3D CAD software.
Many of our students progress to university or other degree-level studies in mechatronics, energy, motorsports, and aeronautics. Others secure apprenticeships with local and national employers, including Gilkes and BAE Systems, and pursue Higher National Diplomas.
Our engineering facilities are among the best, housed in the £1.9m Engineering, Science & Technology Centre, which features CNC machines from Haas, manual lathes, a science laboratory, sustainable energy workshop, 3D printers, advanced CAD systems, and material testing machines.
The successful candidate will join our reputable team, with strong industry links and a commitment to high-quality education and industry-relevant training.
Ideal candidates will have experience in delivering high-quality teaching, embracing creativity, technology, and innovative methodologies. They will foster positive relationships within a supportive team environment.
They should have excellent organizational and time management skills, be adaptable to sector trends, and possess strong IT skills. The ability to share knowledge engagingly and passion for the subject is essential.
This role contributes to the college's efforts in the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), particularly in low-carbon technology adoption.
Teaching experience is desirable; however, confidence in sharing expertise is valued. Support for obtaining a formal teaching qualification will be provided.

What we're looking for
Qualifications
* Recognized teaching qualification or willingness to obtain within 2 years
* Bachelor/Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
* Level 4 qualification in Engineering or willingness to pursue it
* Assessor or IQA qualifications or willingness to obtain within 2 years
* Level 2 in English, Maths, and Science (GCSE A*-C or equivalent)
Experience
* Understanding of the engineering industry and potential specialisms
* Recent teaching experience in FE/HE environments
* Experience with industry specialisms (programming, electronics, CAD, PLCs, pneumatics, etc.)
* Workshop experience in mechanical and/or electronic contexts
Knowledge & Skills
* Effective communication and presentation skills
* Proficient IT skills for teaching and monitoring learning
* Ability to provide high-quality pastoral care
* Understanding of engineering principles and health & safety standards
* Current technical knowledge relevant to vocational delivery
