The Role

Lead Mentor – School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

Location: North West

Salary: Salary range: £42,057–£49,232, depending on experience.

Start Date: To be confirmed

Work Pattern: 195 days directed annually operating on a hybrid office, school and home basis.

About the Role

As Lead Mentor, you will be central to supporting trainee teachers throughout their training year ensuring they are well-prepared for a successful transition into their Early Career Teacher (ECT) phase. You will work closely with trainees, mentors, and partner schools to provide outstanding support across all aspects of the programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Building and maintaining high-quality, supportive relationships with trainees and school-based mentors.
* Ensuring the delivery of exceptional mentoring and professional development.
* Supporting high standards of teaching and learning through rigorous monitoring and feedback.
* Championing the mission to provide outstanding teachers for schools across our region.


We Are Looking For Someone Who Has:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and hold or is willing to work towards NPQLTD
* Significant experience in teacher development, particularly in working with trainee teachers or early career teachers.
* High standards of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across a wide range of stakeholders.
