Consultant Psychiatrist – Adult Mental Health (Berkshire)

Responsibilities
* Provide consultant‑level clinical leadership within the WAM Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), working with locality psychiatry colleagues to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
* Deliver direct and consultative psychiatric input into assessment, formulation and ongoing patient management, supporting recovery‑focused outcomes.
* Contribute to initial psychiatric assessments via the Common Point of Entry (CPE), supporting triage and referral management from primary care.
* Undertake Mental Health Act duties, including community‑based assessments, and act as Responsible Clinician for a small number of patients on CTO.
* Lead within the Care Programme Approach (CPA), ensuring patients’ psychiatric, physical health and social needs are effectively addressed.
* Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, contributing to clinical, service and pathway development discussions.
* Engage with GPs and primary care colleagues, supporting coordinated, integrated and seamless care pathways.
* Participate in CMHT referral meetings and provide prescribing input, including for clozapine and depot clinics, ensuring safe and effective medication management.
This is a full‑time role, with three days based in our Maidenhead office. Flexible options can be discussed.
