Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a leading manufacturing business in South Yorkshire to recruit a Production Shift Manager. This role offers the opportunity to take full responsibility for managing manufacturing operations across four shifts, driving performance, safety and quality standards throughout.
You’ll be part of a forward-thinking team where continuous improvement, people development and high-quality output are at the heart of everything they do.
As Production Shift Manager, you will oversee day-to-day manufacturing activities in line with business objectives. You’ll lead and develop your team, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and drive productivity across all shifts.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Shift Manager include:
* Managing all manufacturing functions across four shifts, ensuring products are produced and dispatched on time to meet customer requirements
* Leading by example on health, safety, wellbeing and environmental standards, ensuring full compliance with ISO and QA requirements
* Coaching and developing teams, conducting performance reviews and supporting personal growth through training and mentoring
* Driving a culture of continuous improvement focused on safety, quality, yield and productivity
* Supporting production and operations management in daily and long-term planning to align with forecasted volumes
* Maintaining accurate stock integrity, including PI checks and raw material control to minimise working capital
* Coordinating with maintenance teams to optimise plant uptime and minimise downtime
* Ensuring operational consistency and excellent housekeeping standards across all shifts
We’re looking for a Production Shift Manager who thrives in a hands-on, team-focused environment and brings a proactive, solutions-driven mindset. Ideally you will have the below skills & experience:
* Proven leadership experience within a high volume manufacturing environment
* Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental standards, ideally within ISO-accredited environments
* The ability to plan, organise and manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and delivery targets
* Experience of coaching, developing and motivating teams to achieve business goals
* A continuous improvement mindset with confidence to propose and implement process changes
* Sound numerical and communication skills and competence with IT systems
