Permanent Veterinary Nurse - Pudsey, West Yorkshire

We are recruiting on behalf of a practice in Pudsey, West Yorkshire for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse. This role is full time for 40 hours per week, including 1 in 4 Saturdays from 8:30am to 4pm. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.
The practice is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and motivated nurse who has a genuine passion for animal welfare. Currently the practice have a team of 3.5 vets and 5 RVNs along with a support team.
The practice encourages all the nurses to develop areas of special interest and they provide ongoing support with a generous CPD allowance.
Currently within the practice the nurses consult, provide schedule 3 procedures, anaesthesia, dentistry, radiology, ultrasonography, and lab work. They create a positive working culture where each and everyone has a say and can make suggestions in terms of the services offered. The role offers room for progression and the practice is continuing to grown with extension plans in place for this year.
They would welcome an RVN who has an interest in clinical coaching or is already a clinical coach however this is not essential. They encourage ongoing post-graduation qualifications and some of the RVN team are currently undertaking certificates, diplomas and CPD.
The role will involve all aspects of general nursing, including:
3. Admissions and discharges
4. Schedule 3 procedures
5. Ultrasonography
6. Radiography
7. Lab work
8. Nurse consultations and clinics
9. Assisting in diagnostics
10. Be responsible and take ownership of tasks
11. Monitoring operations and assisting the Vet in surgery
12. Administering medications and taking records accurately
13. Dispensing drugs
14. In patient care
15. Measuring blood pressure, sampling, and pharmacy work.
16. Occasional reception cover if required
17. Undertaking CPD

The practice is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic veterinary nurse and someone who has excellent customer service and communication skills. The nurse will embrace all aspects of the role and enjoy clinical nursing, in patient care and surgical nursing. They will be passionate about their work and have a positive attitude. They will work well as part of the team and share in the practices ethos of providing a supporting environment to each other. They will have a friendly and down to earth manner and be able to work well under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team. They will have an empathetic attitude and be able to build strong client relationships.
