Contract Details
* Location: Primary School, Grantham, Lincolnshire
* Contract: Full time, term time contract. Fixed term for 1 year initially (Part‑time considered)
* Hours: 32.5 hours per week: Monday to Friday 8.30 to 15.45 (Some flexibility)
* Working weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time plus INSET days)
* Starting salary: Teacher MPS 3 (FTE £37,101 pro‑rata for term‑time working £31,400)
* Start Date: 01 September 2026
This is an exciting and unusual opportunity for a Speech and Language therapist to work closely with the school’s SENDCO and mainstream SEN hub team. The Speech and Language Therapist plays a central role in supporting pupils with a range of speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN). The role blends direct clinical expertise with capacity building across the school, ensuring pupils can access learning, communicate effectively, and participate fully in school life.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement strategies to support children with identified Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
* Deliver speech and language support programmes, working closely with the SENDCO
* Work with individual pupils and small groups to develop communication and language skills
* Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to review meetings
* Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents to support pupils effectively
Ideal Candidate
* Hold a degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* Have a strong interest in supporting children with special educational needs
* Be patient, empathetic and committed to helping children thrive
* Have excellent communication and organisational skills
* Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
