This, coupled with their bespoke trolley retrieval collection service which targets known hotspots of abandoned trolleys in local areas, waterways, parks and communities, thereby repatriating serviceable assets back into stores & mitigating environmental impact. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out all manners of repairs, maintenance, installations and refurbishment to customer shopping trolleys and associated equipment – across the UK for many of the top UK food retailers. There will also be the requirement to collect and retrieve abandoned trolleys within local communities, and input data onto a hand-held device. The role will be on a flexible basis, and involve trolley collection and carrying out all other manners of repairs, maintenance, surveys and installations to customer shopping trolleys at stores, as and when required. Full training on all job aspects will be provided.

The post holder will be required at all times to perform any other reasonable task, as requested by the Line Manager to meet the operational needs of the business.
Hourly rate of £12.86 per hour – changing to an overtime rate of £17.15 per hour after 40 hours worked.
Working Away from Home ‘Anti-social’ overnight payment of £15 per overnight when in a hotel and £20 per overnight when utilising the sleeper van.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Key Tasks
(This list is not exhaustive and other areas of responsibility may be included)
* Carry out specific routes collecting abandoned trolleys, from a range of environments, including parks, rivers and canals to name a few
* Carry out all manners of repairs, maintenance, installations and refurbishment to customer shopping trolleys and associated equipment when required
* Provide holiday cover on a rotational basis for other work colleagues
* Return trolleys to customer stores and liaise with the Store Manager where necessary
* Input accurate and timely information of collections onto hand-held mobile devices
* Conducting additional ad hoc duties as may be required in meeting business needs, relative to the purpose of the role and needs of the customer
* To undertake all necessary daily checks to ensure the vehicle is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedures if it is not
* To comply with all Health & Safety requirements applicable to the role, and whilst in the depot, on the road and at third party premises
* To take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times
* Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage
* Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab.
* Ensure accidents are kept to a minimum.
Employer Expectations Skills/Knowledge/Experience
* Technical ability to fully operate & enter timely information onto hand-held-devices
* Physical capability to lift and move trolleys manually
* Must be up to date with key vaccinations (Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Polio, Tetanus, and Diphtheria)
* Must be self motivated with a can-do attitude
* You will also be required to spend nights away from home, covering jobs at various locations.
* You will be required to utilise a Sleeper Van when working away from home where a hotel is not available
* Customer relationship experience

* You will be required to share a room with another colleague when working away
Qualifications/Tickets/Licences Required
* Full UK Driving Licence (ideally a clean licence is preferred)
