Bury Hospice is seeking a passionate and experienced Kitchen Cook to join our Catering team. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for our patients and visitors, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and contributing to our menu development.
This part-time (25 hours per week), permanent role involves working 2.5 days, with some weekend shifts on a fair and equitable rota basis, following a structured schedule.

The Team Member will liaise directly with the Catering Manager to ensure the efficient running of the service for the Hospice.

Job responsibilities
* Deliver excellent catering services for hospice patients, visitors, and staff, maintaining professionalism at all times.
* Prepare and serve food and beverages to patients (in accordance with their nutritional assessments), staff, and visitors from a planned menu as directed by the Catering Manager.
* Ensure all catering equipment is cleaned, well maintained, and serviced according to Hospice policy.
* Maintain adequate stock levels, reporting shortages to the Catering Manager.
* Coordinate with nursing/medical staff regarding patient dietary requirements.
* Adhere to Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations, practicing safe working methods to ensure cleanliness.
* Report maintenance issues to the Catering Manager.
* Attend and complete on-the-job catering training and mandatory training sessions.
* Supervise volunteers when required.

Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
