One of the countries' largest, most successful and award-winning multidisciplinary engineering consultancies. They have multiple offices across the UK and have a solid reputation for successful project delivery throughout numerous sectors within the Built Environment. Projects can vary from small works to 100m+ across Education, Heritage, High-End Residential, Cultural, Laboratories and more. They have a very modern, open-plan office space, you will get exposure to designing a wide range of electrical systems across multiple jobs and there is an excellent support system in place for staff training and development. They are currently seeking an experienced electrical design engineer to join their Glasgow office.
Role
* Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems.
* Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems – power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
* Carry out (and manage others) detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc.
* Represent the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
* Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
* Report and technical note writing.
* Maintain complete records and archives to company standards.
* Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
* Post graduate work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business.
* Ideally have a full UK driving licence to enable travel to sites as and when required, either as part of wider design team, or individually.
* Experienced in the use of AutoCAD; Revit is ideal.
* Experienced in using Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Experience with Dialux, Trimble.
* Use knowledge of electrical systems to carry out electrical building services design.
* Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
