Ardal is a new procurement collaboration across the four local authorities serving the people and communities of Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan. Annual spend on goods, services and works across the four authorities is over £1 billion per annum.
We have an opportunity to join our award-winning team hosted by Cardiff Council as Strategy and Development Manager.
About the job
As Strategy and Development Manager you will lead on and own all Commissioning and Procurement strategies, policies, procedures. guidance and supporting technology, ensuring all changes are approved subject to compliance with all the appropriate governance arrangements.
You will be responsible for managing the Strategy and Development Team. This will include working across Cardiff Council and Ardal’s partner Local Authorities.
You will perform and co-ordinate research into local and national policy and best practice to ensure a high level of knowledge of latest trends is maintained and this knowledge is applied to procurement activities.
What We Are Looking For From You
We welcome applications from individuals who have experience in procurement preferably in the public sector and policy and strategy development.
We are looking to appoint self-motivated individuals who will have experience of managing staff and leading projects.
You will be given the necessary management and team support, flexible working, peer review and skill sharing to enable you to successfully undertake your role and develop professionally.
