Storage & Backup Administrator (HP/Dell) Contract Location: Hybrid 3 days per week onsite in Wokingham / Reading Type: Contract (SC Cleared or Eligible) Rate: £340 - £380 inside IR35, DOE Duration: Initial 6 months (with possible extension), starting ASAP Are you an expert in enterprise storage and backup solutions with strong experience across Dell PowerMax and HP 3PAR technologies? Our client is seeking a highly skilled Storage & Backup Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and support mission-critical storage environments for a company in the utilities sector. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high- and low-level designs for enterprise storage (Dell PowerMax 2000 & 8000, HP 3PAR) and backup (HP StoreOnce, Veritas NetBackup). Manage implementation and support of storage across Nimble and NetApp platforms. Configure and maintain SAN fabrics, switches, and components. Resolve hardware/software faults in high-availability (HA) environments. Collaborate with Dell teams to assess infrastructure designs and solutions. Produce and maintain build/configuration documentation. Lead technical troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system integration. Supervise implementation teams and provide technical guidance. Evaluate emerging technologies and suggest improvements. Ensure robust monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery processes. Essential Skills & Experience: Expertise in Dell PowerMax (2000 & 8000), HP 3PAR, HP StoreOnce, Veritas NetBackup. Strong knowledge of SAN infrastructure and storage architecture. RedHat Linux and Windows OS experience. Shell scripting capabilities. Understanding of networking protocols and topologies. Desirable: TOGAF framework knowledge or certification. Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks with precision and autonomy. ITIL-aligned support experience in business-critical environments.
