FIre Alarm Engineer – Sub-Contractor
Location: Calderdale Council Area (Halifax & Bradford)
Start Date: Beginning of May
Rate: £280 – £330 per day
We are seeking an experienced Fire alarm Service Engineer operating on a subcontract (CIS) basis to support a maintenance contract across council-owned buildings within the Calderdale region, including Halifax and Bradford.
Work will be carried out across a variety of sites, including social housing, offices, and public buildings. This role suits an engineer who can work independently and is confident across multiple fire alarm systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire alarm systems
* Service, fault-find, and repair fire alarm systems
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations
* Complete service reports and documentation accurately
* Liaise with on-site contacts, including council staff and building managers
* Work safely within occupied buildings
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer (essential)
* Strong fault-finding skills on fire alarm systems
* Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. BS 5839)
* Experience working in commercial/public sector environments
* Full UK driving licence
* Own vehicle, tools, and test equipment
