Job Overview
Fantastic opportunity to join the Mitie and Marks & Spencer family! We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security cover across Marks & Spencer Distribution Centres in Daventry, Northampton. As an SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service. You will be required to work a rotating 4 days on 4 days off rotating shift pattern with the possibility of overtime shifts.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all of the tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
* Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key values.
* Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting.
* Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures.
* Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security.
* Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access.
* Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols.
* Assist site management and team to maintain smooth and compliant operations.
* Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments and tasks.
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies.
Person Specification
* IT literate, with strong written and verbal communication skills and great attention to detail.
* Professional appearance and high personal standards.
* Adaptable, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.
* Calm under pressure with a positive can-do attitude.
* Must hold a valid front-line SIA Licence.
* Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle.
Training
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
* To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Operations Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
* You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety Responsibilities
* Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, risk and incidents on site.
* Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
* To maintain professional conduct in the face of any situation or challenging customers.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and Marks & Spencer.
* To ensure patrols are being carried out thoroughly as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions (AI's).
* Identify and request any training or equipment needs promptly.
