Shift / Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:45pm / Friday - 8:00am - 12:00noon

My client is a well-established, engineering-led manufacturer specialising in the design and delivery of bespoke mechanical handling and control systems for demanding industrial and offshore environments worldwide. The business supports projects from concept through to manufacture, installation and commissioning, working across a range of technically complex applications.
The Role
The Project Support Engineer provides hands-on support to the Projects team, working closely with Project Managers to keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule.
This is a practical, varied, and fast-paced role that sits at the heart of project delivery. While the Project Support Engineer does not typically own full projects, they act as the engine that drives actions forward, removes blockers, and ensures momentum is maintained across engineering, purchasing, production, suppliers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple projects
Generate, maintain, and update project timing plans and schedules
Track actions, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring follow-up and closure
Assist with the preparation, updating, and review of project budgets and cost trackers
Chase suppliers for quotations, lead times, and deliveries
Interface daily with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, and Quality teams to ensure alignment
Follow up on engineering drawing release and technical queries
Arrange and coordinate customer visits, site visits, and internal meetings
Attend project meetings (internal and external), take actions, and drive follow-up
Support customer communication, including joining calls or meetings where required
Travel to site when needed, including ad-hoc support such as delivering parts or assisting with on-site issues
About You:
Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, production, or project environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
Confident communicator, able to interact with suppliers, customers, and internal teams
Proactive, can-do attitude with a strong desire to make things happen
Willingness to be hands-on and flexible in approach
Exposure to project coordination, project support, or junior project engineering roles
Understanding of manufacturing processes, bills of materials, drawings, and lead times
Positive, energetic, and solution-focused
Comfortable being the "go-to" person for getting things done
Resilient and adaptable in a changing project environment
Eager to learn and develop toward a Project Engineer / Project Manager role
