We are looking for a Learning Support Facilitator to join us at Tameside College, starting 17th August 2026.
There are 4 positions available (36 hours over 38 weeks – 0.88 FTE).
Responsibilities
* Provide a range of support to learners with a variety of needs including difficulties/disabilities, literacy, numeracy and language.
* Give emotional support and encourage participation in the learning environment, and may be required to support learners with personal care needs.
* Support learners across a wide range of vocational subjects and may be required to work at more than one of the college’s centres.
* Work alongside classroom tutors to break down barriers and ensure that learners can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
* Ensure that individual learner needs are met and contribute to raising awareness and understanding of the needs of individual learners in the wider college community.
Qualifications and skills
* Some previous experience in supporting young people.
* Sound understanding of the range of issues facing young people with barriers to their learning (including social, emotional and behavioural).
* Ability to motivate students with differing needs and abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal skills in working with students, ability to remain calm and a problem‑solving approach to managing challenging situations.
