Job Title: Quality Inspector - Electronics

A well‑established electronics manufacturer in Colchester is seeking a Quality Inspector to support the inspection and verification of PCB assemblies. This position suits someone with strong attention to detail, hands‑on experience in electronics production, and confidence working to IPC standards.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect PCB assemblies throughout the build process, including visual, in‑process, and final inspection stages.
- Assess solder joints, component placement, polarity, orientation, and overall workmanship.
- Apply IPC‑A‑610 criteria and follow internal quality procedures.
- Record defects, raise non‑conformances, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with production, test, and engineering teams to maintain consistent product quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation, inspection records, and traceability.
Skills and experience
- Background in electronics inspection or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of IPC‑A‑610 (certification advantageous but not essential with experience).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and component datasheets.
- High level of accuracy, methodical working style, and strong problem‑solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a production team.
