Starting Salary: £32,076 with the opportunity to progress to £34,834 pa

We are looking to recruit a Supported Employment Adviser to provide employment and job brokering support for young people with additional needs, working closely with parents and carers.
Alongside working with young people, your responsibilities will include working closely with employers to encourage them to consider providing opportunities for young people with additional needs, including work experience for young people in special schools, supported internship placements, working interviews, and ultimately paid employment. You will also offer disability awareness training.
If you want a job with variety, then this role is for you, as no two days are the same. The job combines providing employment support for young people with marketing them employers and whilst mostly satisfying, can also be a little frustrating when trying to find the right employer.
You will need to have experience in working with young people with additional needs/special educational needs and Disabilities (SEND) and have some understanding of the barriers to learning, training and employment that young people with SEND may have. Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI) and the Level 3 Certificate for Supported Employment Practitioners are desirable qualifications.
The postholder will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people with SEND and their families by helping them to find suitable paid employment.
