A vacancy has arisen for a Maintenance Plumber at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Working within the Operations and Maintenance Division, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing reactive and planned preventative maintenance at Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge Hospitals.
Responsibilities include:
1. Undertaking on-call duties within the trade group to attend emergency repairs outside normal hours, with increased responsibility and no on-site supervision.
2. Testing and repairing all aspects of hot and cold water installations, including pipework, storage tanks, and blending valves.
3. Regular chlorination of water storage tanks, ensuring safe residual chlorine levels, temperature checks, and water sampling for biological testing across trust premises.
4. Repairing and servicing sanitary appliances such as taps, cisterns, showers, baths, W.C.s, and urinals.
5. Installation and fault-finding on electric water heaters and storage heaters.
6. Working on steam boilers and pressure systems.
7. Servicing and repairing gas equipment, boilers, and associated pipework, valves, and fittings, ensuring safe use and compliance with regulations, including maintaining WHT CORGI registration.
