We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join a well-established and growing precision engineering company based in Dudley. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, forward-thinking business offering competitive pay and long-term stability.
The Role
As a CNC Lathe Programmer, you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances.
Your duties will include:
Programming CNC lathes (Fanuc controls preferred) from technical drawings
Setting and operating machines to produce small and medium batch work
Editing, modifying, and optimising existing programs to improve efficiency
Selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures
Producing components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
Conducting first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
Using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and thread gauges
Ensuring machines are maintained and kept in safe working order
Working collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to meet production targets
This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working independently and taking ownership of their work from start to finish.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Programmer/Setter/Operator
Strong working knowledge of Fanuc controls (essential)
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
Experience working to tight tolerances
Good understanding of tooling, feeds, and speeds
A strong eye for detail and commitment to quality
A proactive and reliable work ethic
Experience working within precision engineering or subcontract environments would be highly advantageous.
