An exciting opportunity has arisen for ten Band 2 Clinical Support Workers to join our dedicated nursing team on Beckett Wing Wards, part of the Speciality and Integrated Medicine Clinical Service Unit (SIM). Becket wing wards has a maximum of 30‑bed medical base ward, specialising in general medicine and elderly care. We provide care for adults aged 65 and above. Due to the wide range of complex care needs we support, we are seeking highly motivated and dynamic individuals who are committed to delivering person‑centred care while upholding the highest standards of safety, dignity, and compassion. We are looking for enthusiastic and caring Clinical Support Workers with a genuine passion for working with medical patients. The ideal candidates will consistently strive to deliver high‑quality, safe care, demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills, show a willingness to learn, and take a proactive approach to supporting both patients and colleagues. Patient experience and safety underpin all aspects of this role. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute positively to our team culture and the day‑to‑day running of the wards.

Main duties of the job

The jobholder will be actively involved in providing direct and indirect compassionate care for patients in support of and supervised by a registered practitioner. The jobholder will assist in the overall implementation of care as part of the multi‑professional team. The jobholder is expected to deliver and maintain high standards of acute and planned care. The jobholder will be skilled in taking appropriate action(s) to achieve the planned outcome. The jobholder will contribute to the maintenance of an environment for effective care. The jobholder will be expected to practice in accordance with Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust (LTHT) policies, guidelines, standards, and statutory requirements and operate within defined competency boundaries. The jobholder will work within a ward or clinical department.

Other criteria

* Good interpersonal skills
* Competent in written, electronic and verbal communication skills
* Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary), including clearance on blood borne viruses in compliance with Trust Policy
* Ability to travel in between Trust premises and patient homes for posts that involve community visits


Qualifications

* NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare Support or equivalent health care related qualification
* The Care Certificate or, in the absence of this, the applicant must successfully attain the Care Certificate within the first 3 months of employment.
* Commitment to undergo training and education as required
* Basic skills Maths and English Level 1 (equivalent of GCSE 1‑9 (A*–G))


Experience

* Significant experience of working within a healthcare setting delivering clinical and or personal care
* Insight into roles responsibilities of post
* Basic IT skills
