You'll help us design and build shared platform capabilities on Azure that hide complexity from product teams while enforcing security, reliability and governance by default.This role is ideal for an engineer who: Enjoys working with Kubernetes and AzureThinks in terms of platform APIs, abstractions and self-serviceIs curious about emerging control plane and infrastructure abstraction approachesWants to help teams consume infrastructure as a productHow the Team WorksYou'll join a Platform Engineering team focused on building reusable, internal platform services rather than one-off infrastructure.We work using: Kubernetes as a core platform primitiveGitOps, CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-CodeDevSecOps and SRE-inspired practicesAI-assisted engineering (Copilot, agents, automation)What You'll Do Build and operate Azure-backed platform services exposed through Kubernetes APIsDesign abstractions that allow teams to provision infrastructure safely and consistentlyWork with AKS as a core runtime for platform and workload servicesContribute to platform control plane capabilities (e.g. Kubernetes-based or API-driven approaches)Define and manage Azure resources using Terraform, Bicep and declarative approaches- Embed security, governance and policy into platform defaultsSupport GitOps-driven workflows and CI/CD pipelinesImprove observability, reliability and operational readinessWho You AreEssential: Experience in Azure, cloud engineering, DevOps or platform rolesHands-on experience with KubernetesInfrastructure-as-Code experienceScripting (PowerShell, Bash or Python)CI/CD and Git-based workflowsDesirable: Experience with platform abstraction or control plane patterns (e.g. Crossplane, Pulumi, or similar approaches)Kubernetes extension patterns or operatorsTerraform or BicepAzure networking, identity and governanceGitOps toolingBenefits of working at Canada LifeWe believe in recognising and rewarding our people, so we offer a competitive salary and benefits package that's regularly reviewed.
