Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home & School-Based) Location: Northampton Area Hours: School Hours (Typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, flexible depending on placement) Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications) About the Role We are looking for a committed and flexible 1:1 Tutor to support pupils across the Northampton area in both home and school environments. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, including those with special educational needs (SEN), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, or pupils currently out of mainstream education. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver personalised 1:1 lessons based on each pupil’s individual needs Support learning in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science Adapt teaching approaches to suit different learning styles and abilities Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement Work alongside schools, parents, and external professionals Track progress and provide regular feedback and reports Requirements Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or support roles) Good knowledge of the UK curriculum Strong behaviour management and communication skills Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable) Desirable Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification Experience supporting SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision learners Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures What We Offer Flexible work during school hours Ongoing support and training opportunities A rewarding role making a real difference to young people Competitive rates of pay How to Apply If you are enthusiastic about supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and helping them reach their full potential, please submit your CV along with a short cover statement outlining your experience.
