As a Markets Business Control Manager (BCM) within JPMorgan Chase, you will lead efforts in identifying and mitigating compliance and operational risks. Your role is crucial in enhancing our control environment through innovative solutions and advanced data analysis. You will be responsible for the control agenda for the Corporate and Private side Sales teams, including Commodities, within UK Sales.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with business units to identify potential operational risks in processes, systems, and operations.
2. Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the impact and likelihood of identified risks.
3. Own and ensure delivery of strategic control initiatives, including change initiatives.
4. Drive the control agenda to identify and remediate control gaps, monitoring control effectiveness.
5. Review and implement key firm-wide policy and procedure reviews on behalf of the Business.
6. Review and execute ad hoc/analytical/deep dive projects, resiliency requests, and incident reviews with key stakeholders to determine root causes and remedial actions.
7. Influence business practices, policies, strategies, internal controls, and standards to drive change through continual evaluation of operational risk and control frameworks, maintaining communication with business leaders.
8. Partner effectively across the firm, including front office, operations, legal, compliance, risk, audit, regulators, and technology control functions, to promote consistent operational risk practices.
9. Collaborate with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense for exam/audit planning, preparation, testing, and issue management.
10. Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
11. Deep understanding of Markets Sales or Trading businesses.
12. Experience in operations, operational risk management, controls, sales, trading, audit, technology, or compliance within a global banking environment.
13. Strong personality, motivated, energetic, with ownership mindset, capable of guiding senior stakeholders.
14. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
15. Ability to work autonomously, adapt to shifting priorities, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
16. Process analysis, design, and re-engineering skills to inform control design.
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize large data sets.
18. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
19. Excellent communication skills to convey complex information effectively.
20. Capability to leverage AI/ML in risk management and utilize automation for efficiency, with commodities knowledge being a plus.
21. Strong team player with partnering and influencing skills.
22. Investigative mindset, capable of high-level and detailed issue analysis.
