Key Responsibilities
1. Coordination and Programme Support for the Retention Manager
Provide day‑to‑day coordination for the People, Culture & Retention programme, ensuring actions, timelines, and deliverables are tracked and completed.
Prepare briefings, reports, presentations, and data summaries for the Retention Manager and senior E&F leaders.
2. Support Delivery of the E&F People & Culture Strategy
Coordinate the operational delivery of the multi‑year People & Culture Strategy, ensuring actions are progressed on time and barriers are escalated to the Retention Manager.
Translate strategic objectives into practical, accessible activities for frontline E&F teams, ensuring initiatives are adapted to the needs of shift‑based, technical, and operational staff.
Enhance Learning, Development & Career Pathways
Work closely with the Retention Manager and L&D colleagues to map out clear, accessible career pathways for all E&F roles, including apprenticeships, technical qualifications, supervisory development, and leadership routes.
Coordinate the promotion and uptake of apprenticeships, ensuring staff and managers understand available pathways and funding mechanisms.
4. Advance Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)
Support the Retention Manager in embedding DEI principles across all people processes, including recruitment, induction, development, and performance management.
Coordinate DEI improvement actions arising from staff survey results and local feedback.
5. Deliver a Holistic Wellbeing & Psychological Safety Offer
Coordinate the delivery of a comprehensive wellbeing programme tailored to the needs of E&F staff, including physical, mental, emotional, and financial wellbeing support.
Support the Retention Manager in designing wellbeing interventions that address the unique pressures of operational, shift‑based, and physically demanding roles.
6. Support Cultural Transformation and Leadership Development
Work with the Retention Manager to embed compassionate, inclusive, and values‑based leadership across all E&F teams.
Support the design and delivery of cultural transformation programmes, including team development sessions, leadership workshops, and behaviour‑change initiatives.
Collect, analyse, and interpret workforce data related to retention, turnover, sickness, engagement, and staff experience.
Conduct thematic analysis of qualitative feedback from surveys, listening events, exit interviews, stay conversations, and informal staff interactions.
Coordinate a structured programme of staff engagement activities across all E&F teams, ensuring every staff group has opportunities to contribute.
Support the Retention Manager in designing and delivering directorate‑wide engagement plans, including listening events, walk‑rounds, and staff forums.
