Overview
Performing Arts Technician role at THE BOURNE ACADEMY.
Start date: asap. Hours: up to 27.5 hours per week, term time only. Salary: c£15,750pa.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical and administrative support for teaching staff in the Performing Arts including: dance, music and drama, to ensure the highest quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5, and to assist students to learn effectively in relevant activities in line with the Academy’s policies and procedures.
* Develop performance and exhibition outcomes; help maintain an excellent learning environment; take responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, equipment and resources within the subject area.
* Design, develop, build and dress sets ready for performances; create promotional materials for events.
* Assist the music/drama department with peripatetic teacher timetables.
* Undertake routine work for the Performing Arts areas, including monitoring and maintaining stock, equipment and resources.
* There will be some working at heights required, particularly when setting up staging, lighting and sound equipment for school productions.
Requirements
* Will be required to work at heights for staging, lighting and sound setup.
* This role is subject to enhanced DBS checks.
* Hours up to 27.5 per week, Monday to Friday. This is a term time only post (38 weeks per year).
