Financial Controller
Kingsley Napley LLP
Full/ time permanent position – flexible applications always considered
We’re looking for a commercially minded Financial Controller to join our Finance team and take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and leadership across multiple disciplines.
This is a broad, varied and exciting role, which has arisen due to an internal promotion and is ideal for a confident Finance Manager ready to take the step up, or an experienced Financial Controller seeking greater scope and influence. You’ll lead a high-performing team across Management Accounts, Revenue Control, Cashiers and Partnership Accounts, and will work closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Director to manage the day-to-day and drive process improvement, automation, and strategic insight.
What’s exciting?
* Leading and mentoring a multi-disciplinary finance team (with 5 direct reports) in a collaborative, friendly and high-performance culture
* The variety - overseeing management accounts, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting and audit processes. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including SRA audit and financial controls
* The ability to be creative. We’re looking for someone with a desire and enthusiasm for automation and freeing up our people to carry out more analysis and business partnering
* The fact that we’re not a mature function. Someone who is comfortable questioning and bringing their ideas and insights to the table
* Working closely with the Head of Finance, IT, and People & Culture to implement system enhancements and optimise workflows
What we’re looking for?
* A qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience of working in a similar role within a legal or professional services environment
* Exposure and experience operating at a senior level within a Finance team overseeing multiple disciplines
* Proven experience leading and developing finance teams with a diverse range of skills. We’re looking for strong mentoring, leadership and coaching skills - and those who care about the people around them
* Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement
* A mindset for innovation, process optimisation, and system improvement
* Those who are honest, reflective and adaptable and whose core values align with ours.
