Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Alnwick to start ASAP on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on the lives, progress and development of young people.
About the School:
* The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Alnwick.
* The School supports pupils aged 4-16 with opportunities to support across all years depending on preference and specialism.
* The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, promoting teamwork within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, Hours and Contract:
* Hours – Full-time, Monday to Friday
* Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.
* Start Date – ASAP
* Location – Alnwick
About the Role:
* Supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
* Supporting pupils aged 11-16 with varying SEN and challenging behaviour, depending on your preference, experience, and skill-set.
* Some pupils may be non-verbal and require Personal Care; willingness to support in these contexts is essential.
* Developing understanding of different pupils' needs and learning styles, working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
* A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
* UK Driving Licence and access to a car (desired)
* Experience working with Children in UK Schools
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Resilient, proactive, and positive nature
* Right to Work in the UK
* Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply
* Two professional references covering the last two years
