Logistics Co-Ordinator
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £33,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:15, fully onsite
ACS Staffing Solutions are delighted to be recruiting for an experienced Logistics Co-Ordinator on behalf of our client based in Milton Keynes.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and commercially minded logistics professional with strong experience across international freight, customs compliance and export documentation. The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end logistics operations across UK and international markets, ensuring shipments are delivered accurately, compliantly and on time.
The role would suit an individual with strong hands-on experience across international shipping operations, customs procedures and freight coordination who enjoys working within a fast-paced and detail-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Transport, Freight & Distribution
Coordinate and manage international shipments across road, sea and air freight
Manage domestic, European and global distribution activity
Create and validate commercial invoices, ensuring accuracy across:
Commodity codes (HS codes)
Country of Origin (COO)
Customs values
Incoterms
Freight and insurance details
Manage export declaration processes and customs documentation
Operate Chamber of Commerce portals for Certificates of Origin and document legalisation
Liaise with freight forwarders and carrier platforms including UPS and DHL
Compare freight rates, negotiate costs and optimise delivery performance
Ensure correct application of Incoterms across all shipments
Customs Compliance & Regulatory Control
Calculate and verify customs duties, VAT and associated charges
Ensure accurate commodity code assignment and customs compliance
Maintain Country of Origin documentation for imports and exports
Monitor international trade regulations and customs legislation
Act as the key point of contact for customs-related queries and escalations
Manage post-Brexit UK–EU customs procedures and border documentation
Ensure ongoing compliance with EORI, customs valuation and trade requirements
Dangerous Goods & Reverse Logistics
Coordinate dangerous goods shipments, including lithium-ion batteries
Ensure compliance with IATA, IMDG and ADR regulations
Manage returned goods processes and customs re-import documentation
Maintain accurate inventory reconciliation processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Production Planning to align shipment schedules
Liaise with Sales, Purchasing, Finance and Customer Service teams
Review freight invoices and resolve discrepancies
Provide updates regarding delivery schedules, freight costs and customs implications
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Maintain full shipment traceability from order through to delivery
Monitor and report on logistics KPIs including:
On-time delivery
Freight cost efficiency
Documentation accuracy
Proof of Export and Delivery
Challenge logistics suppliers and freight providers to improve commercial terms and reduce costs
Support continuous improvement across logistics and supply chain operations
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience within logistics, freight forwarding, shipping or supply chain coordination
Strong hands-on knowledge of international shipping and customs processes
Experience exporting to Far East and Middle East markets
Strong understanding of:
Commercial invoices
Export declarations
Commodity codes
Country of Origin requirements
Customs duties
Incoterms
Experience using ERP systems and freight forwarder portals
Knowledge of post-Brexit UK–EU customs procedures
Strong organisational and communication skills
Commercially aware with strong negotiation capability
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
