Band 8a Pharmacist – Acute Trust (Ward-Based)

Contract Duration: 31st December 2025
Hours: Monday To Friday, 08:45am – 17:00pm
Pay: £26.42/ hour – Standard £42.27/ hour – Bank Holiday
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Band8a Pharmacist to join a busty acute trust on a ward-based assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care across a range of specialities including:
* General Medicine
* Surgery
* Orthopaedics
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to assigned wards
* Provide expert medicines optimisation support to multidisciplinary teams
* Conduct medicines reconciliation and clinical reviews
* Ensure safe and effective prescribing, dispensing and administration
* Offer specialist advice to clinicians, nursing staff and patients
* Contribute to discharge planning and patient counselling
Requirements
* GPhC Registered Pharmacist
* Previous ward-based hospital experience (Band 7/8a level)
* Strong clinical knowledge in acute care
* Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary environment
* Excellent communication and decision-making skills
