About the Role
We are recruiting a Senior Day Support Worker to support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs within a day opportunities service, including outdoor and horticulture-based activities.
Working alongside the Team Leader, you will help deliver person-centred, meaningful day activities using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach. The role may involve personal care and, where required, the use of de-escalation or physical intervention as a last resort.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support adults to engage in meaningful day and work-based activities
2. Deliver person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and choice
3. Assist with care planning, reviews, and daily support programmes
4. Support and mentor staff and volunteers
5. Ensure safe working practices, safeguarding, and accurate record keeping
6. Contribute to the day-to-day running of the service in the absence of the Team Leader
Essential Criteria
7. QCF Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
8. Minimum 1 year's experience in a care or educational support role
9. Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviour
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills
11. Willingness to provide personal care
12. Registered or willing to register with NISCC
13. Flexible to work required hours
