We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to identify, develop and scale innovation, capital and growth projects that will strengthen the UK’s position in Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) and Connected & Automated Mobility (CAM).
In this high-impact role, you will engage with UK and global clients, build strategic partnerships, generate new opportunities and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful economic growth across the sector.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with business objectives
* Work closely with technology trends and insights teams to identify emerging opportunities and industry trends
* Build and manage a pipeline of strategic relationships and partnerships with industrial organisations to meet or exceed funding and investment objectives
* Engage with UK and international companies and stakeholders to source and onboard investment in R&D and manufacturing supply chain
* Maintain and review a target list of organisations, ensuring effective follow-up and accurate tracking of client interactions using CRM tools
* Collaborate across the funding landscape and all levels of the automotive supply chain to accelerate strategic, technological and economic impacts
* Respond to enquiries and referrals, supporting the development of successful grant applications and contributing to an effective UK funding ecosystem
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment and maximise business development outcomes
* Provide client and market feedback to support operational improvements and efficiencies
* Prepare regular reports on business development performance and forecasts in accordance with business objectives
* Represent APC & Zenzic at conferences, trade shows, and events, including speaking roles when required
Person Specification – Experience, Knowledge and Skills
* Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field
* Significant experience in the automotive or advanced manufacturing sectors within business development, sales or account management
* Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
* Analytical thinking and strategic planning capabilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
* Self-motivated, goal orientated and ability to work independently
* Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as required
