Overview

As a Procurement Category Specialist, you'll support the full procurement lifecycle, managing procurement exercises from end to end with confidence and care. Under the guidance of the Category Manager, you'll coordinate and deliver tender activity using our e-tendering platform, ensuring each stage is planned, documented and compliant with procurement regulations. You'll work closely with internal teams and external suppliers, acting as a bridge between the two, with a good understanding of procurement regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while seeking support when needed.
You'll contribute to contract management activity, coordinate supplier meetings, maintain action logs, and ensure performance is monitored and documented effectively. You may represent Procurement at meetings, gathering information, supporting decision-making, or helping others understand the process and requirements. Responsibilities
* Support end-to-end procurement exercises and the full procurement lifecycle under the guidance of the Category Manager.
* Coordinate tender activity using the e-tendering platform, ensuring proper planning, documentation and regulatory compliance.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to shape procurement strategies, clarify requirements, and ensure clarity and fairness throughout the tender process.
* Handle clarification questions, manage evaluation documentation, and safeguard confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
* Support post-award activities such as issuing award letters, preparing standstill documentation, and providing formal feedback to suppliers; assist with debrief meetings if needed.
* Contribute to ongoing contract management, including scheduling supplier meetings, recording actions, and liaising with the e-Procurement team to keep contract data accurate.
* Support development of procurement approaches for suitable projects and engage with suppliers to promote value, transparency and constructive relationships.
* Engage with stakeholders to understand the market and ensure procurement processes are transparent and fair.
Qualifications and Skills
* Previous public sector procurement experience is helpful but transferable skills and motivation to grow are welcomed.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal teams and external suppliers.
* Good understanding of procurement regulations, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with appropriate support.
* Experience with e-tendering platforms and contract management activities is desirable.
