Salary Scale: £92.59–£120 per day

GSL are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support students within a secondary school setting. This role involves working with young people who may require additional support with behaviour, attendance, emotional regulation, engagement, confidence, and personal development across Key Stages 3 and 4.
You will work closely with teachers, pastoral leaders, safeguarding teams, and senior staff to help students overcome barriers to learning, improve engagement, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.

You will have opportunities for professional development and will support students in a range of settings, including:
* 1:1 mentoring and intervention support
* Small group pastoral and behaviour programmes
* Classroom-based behaviour and engagement support
* Attendance, wellbeing, and emotional regulation interventions
* Supporting students during unstructured times, transitions, and school activities
* Enrichment, extracurricular activities, and wider school events
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in helping students develop positive relationships, resilience, self-confidence, emotional awareness, and strategies for success. You will work collaboratively with school staff and families to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to students requiring additional support
* Support students with behaviour, engagement, attendance, and emotional wellbeing
* Build positive and professional relationships with students, staff, and families
* Promote positive behaviour, resilience, self-regulation, and personal development
* Support students in accessing learning and achieving their potential
* Monitor progress and provide feedback to pastoral and teaching staff
* Assist with behaviour management strategies and intervention plans
* Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with secondary-aged students
* Calm, patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
* Confidence managing behaviour and supporting student engagement
* Ability to motivate and inspire young people
* Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
* Previous experience in education, youth work, coaching, mentoring, care, or support work is desirable but not essential
* Genuine passion for supporting young people and making a positive impact
