Job Description

Location: Astec Industries Europe Limited, 3 Bankmore Way East. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in Telestack's sales and engineering operations by detailing 2D and 3D drawings for machines, projects and new products. Working closely with the Sales Team and Engineering departments, you will ensure high-level sales support including technical drawings, layouts, technical specifications and commercial proposals. Additionally, you will contribute to the technical sales process by handling dealer and customer contact where required, and generally supporting the sales team.


Responsibilities

* Sales and Technical Support (Primary Focus): Collaborate with the Sales Team to deliver cost-effective technical solutions tailored to customer needs.
* Collaborate with the Sales Team in discussions with dealers and customers on technical details and proposals via MS Teams calls and Site Visits.
* Manage sales opportunities along with Sales Manager(s) from inquiry to proposal to in-house management to post-sale follow-up.
* Support the generation of technical proposals, sales specifications, and marketing materials when required.
* Liaise with internal departments, including Engineering, Aftermarkets, and Factory Personnel, to align costs, technical solutions and project goals.


Collaboration and Communication

* Work closely with stakeholders, including the Sales Team, Engineering, and suppliers, to develop accurate cost assessments and ensure smooth project delivery.
* Participate in meetings with suppliers, customers, and trade events as needed.


General Engineering Support

* Support concept designs for new or modified equipment to aid cost validation.
* Assist with 3D modelling, detailing, and layouts where necessary to support sales efforts.


Travel Requirements

Willing to travel worldwide by air and auto as required (approximately 4 - 8 weeks per year). Must have a valid driver’s license, be able to obtain a passport, and have the financial means to travel when required. Approved expenses will be reimbursed.


Skills & Requirements


Required Criteria

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Mining, Geological or Industrial Engineering required.
* At least two years’ relevant experience in a comparable position.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal relations when dealing with management, sales, dealers, customers, and inter-company personnel.
* Ability to manage stressful situations including equipment and/or process problem resolution with customers and dealer personnel.
* Understanding of costing processes, particularly for mechanical equipment and engineering projects.
* Experience with material estimation, including steel and purchased parts.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.


Desired Criteria

* Knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, or mechanical systems is an advantage.
* Experience in preparing technical drawings or layouts.
* Familiarity with PhotoView 360 or similar rendering tools.
