Purpose
As a Responsible Investment (RI) Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting London CIV's Responsible Investment strategy. Working closely with the RI team, you will contribute to the integration of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations across our investment platform.
This is a hands-on and varied role involving ESG data management and analysis, internal tool development, regulatory reporting, stewardship activities, and client support. The successful candidate will help ensure our Responsible Investment practices are data-driven, outcomes-focused and aligned with client expectations.
With a broad remit, this role offers a unique opportunity to work across the business and help shape London CIV's approach to sustainability. It will suit someone who is analytical, organised and passionate about the role of ESG in long-term value creation.
What You'll Be Doing
ESG Data & Analysis
Analyse ESG and climate-related data to assess portfolio exposure to key sustainability factors. Use insights to support engagement priorities, reporting, and stewardship initiatives. Help develop internal ESG dashboards, tools and models to improve data quality and decision-making.
Research & Insight Generation
Conduct research on emerging ESG themes, regulations, and best practices to inform the evolution of London CIV's Responsible Investment approach. Produce thematic insights and evidence-based recommendations to support internal initiatives and Partner Fund needs. Track market developments and contribute to thought leadership across the RI function.
Reporting & Disclosure
Contribute to regular and ad hoc reporting, including TCFD, Stewardship Outcomes, TNFD and Partner Fund reports. Draft content and analysis for client-facing presentations and internal briefings. Coordinate responses to information requests from clients and internal stakeholders.
Product & Investment Oversight
Support the development of new investment products by analysing exclusions, benchmarks and reporting requirements. Provide RI input into the review of new investment opportunities and programmes. Assist with the ongoing oversight of ESG-related compliance and risk.
Engagement & Stewardship
Identify stewardship and engagement opportunities based on ESG risk analysis. Contribute to the development of priority themes and track progress on key engagements.
Client & Partner Fund
Support Respond to Partner Fund queries on RI matters and produce presentation materials. Collaborate across teams to ensure consistent and high-quality RI communications.
Internal Initiatives & Process Improvement
Contribute to the enhancement of internal RI processes, models and capabilities. Assist in the design and implementation of tools that improve the integration of sustainability across the business.
Essential
What You'll Bring
* A genuine interest in the role of ESG and climate risks in investment decision-making
* Strong analytical skills and experience working with data in Excel or similar platforms
* Confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail and ability to manage complex data sets
* Comfortable creating and updating presentations in PowerPoint
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and functions
* Sound understanding of investment principles and sustainability considerations
* Numerically proficient, intellectually curious, and proactive in solving problems
Desirable
* A relevant degree in a related field (e.g. finance, economics, environmental science, geography)
* Experience working in an investment or ESG-related role
* Familiarity with ESG data providers and tools such as Bloomberg, Power BI or Python
* Experience preparing client reports and working with institutional stakeholders
* Understanding of ESG frameworks and disclosure standards (e.g. TCFD, TNFD, SFDR, UK Stewardship Code)
